Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data PetCleared processes, why, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. The site works without an account, and we store nothing personal about you in our database.

What we collect

There are no accounts and no tracking across the site. When you run a search, the origin, destination, and pet type go to our server to build your result. None of it is tied to your identity, and no record links a search back to you.

We keep an anonymised record of each search, covering the route, the pet type, and roughly when the trip is planned, so we know which corridors to verify by hand first. Nothing in it identifies you or links a search back to you.

IP addresses

Your IP address is used for one purpose: preventing any single visitor from overloading the search. It is held temporarily in server memory and is not written to our database or used to build a profile. Our hosting provider also keeps standard, short-lived server logs for security purposes, as every host does.

When you contact us

If you email hello@petcleared.com or privacy@petcleared.com, we use your email address and message to reply to you, and for nothing else.

The feedback button on a result sends us the route and pet type so we can check the requirement, plus anything you type in the message box. Please leave personal details out of that box.

Payments

Trip Pack payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles your card and billing details under its own privacy policy. Paddle may process those details outside the UK and EU under the safeguards that data protection law requires. We receive an order record, not your card number.

Providing your email at purchase is optional. If you do, we use it only to deliver your Trip Pack and to alert you if the rules change for your route before you travel. We delete it about 30 days after your travel date, and we do not use it for marketing.

Cookies

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free tool that counts visits without identifying anyone.

Legal basis, storage, and your rights

PetCleared is the data controller for the data described in this policy, which means we decide what is processed and why.

We rely on two legal bases. Delivering your Trip Pack and alerting you to a rule change on your route rest on performing the purchase you made. Keeping anonymised search statistics, securing the site, and limiting how often any one visitor can search rest on our legitimate interests in running and improving the service.

All data we hold ourselves is stored within the EU. Traffic to the site uses HTTPS, and our database is encrypted where it is stored.

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. To make a request, email privacy@petcleared.com. If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
